Promotion for State Chamber Board Member
Tom Maloney will serve as area manager for Alaska for CH2M Hill. Maloney has been with CH2M HILL for 21 years in Alaska. His work experience includes being a senior project controller and corporate business manager. Maloney is the incoming president of the Resource Development Council, vice chairman of the Municipality of Anchorage Investment Advisory Commission and board member of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce. Maloney replaces Chuck O'Donnell, who relinquished his role as area manager to focus on critical business development in Alaska and his expanded role with the energy and chemicals business group.

State Chamber Solicits Nominations for Annual Awards
The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce is soliciting nominations for its prestigious annual awards. The awards are the William A. Egan Outstanding Alaskan, the Bill Bivin Small Business of the Year and the Local Chamber of the Year. Presentations of the awards will be made September 21, 2010 at the at the Chamber's 51st Annual Fall Conference and Business Trade Show in Juneau.
The Celebrated and prestigious William A. Egan award is given to individuals who have made substantial and continual contributions of statewide significance while working in the private sector. Each year, nominations are kept strictly confidential. The selection is made by all past chairs of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce with voting conducted by secret ballot. The recipients of the Outstanding Alaskan of the Year form an impressive list of Alaskan "Who's Who" and dates back to its first honoree in 1964.
The Bill Bivin award, established in 1993, pays tribute to businesses that exemplify leadership, ethics and organization. The business is recognized for consistent community involvement, an excellent business reputation and established leadership in their fields.
The Alaska Chamber of the Year award is bestowed upon an Alaskan chamber for consistent community involvement and an excellent business reputation.

State Chamber Annual $10,000 Raffle
Here is your chance to win $10,000! State Chamber Board members are now selling raffle tickets for the annual State Chamber $10,000 raffle. Raffle proceeds allow the Chamber to continue its mission "To promote a positive business environment in Alaska". Winning tickets will be drawn on September 21, 2010, during the Fall Conference and Trade Show in Juneau, Alaska. Tickets may be purchased from State Chamber staff or any of our statewide Board members. Here is a link to the list of Board members.
v Tickets cost $100 each.
v Only 300 tickets are sold and there are 13 cash prize winners.
v There are an additional 37 prizes donated by members; odds of winning are very good.

v All 300 tickets are drawn to determine prizes
v The first ticket drawn wins $500.
v Every 25th ticket drawn wins $250.

NOTE: You have the option to split the Grand Prize. If you choose "Split" and your ticket is one of last two to be drawn, the Grand Prize will be split and both tickets will win $5,000.
