Rep. Young Announces SAFETEA-LU Funding For Morris Thompson Center
Washington, D.C. - Alaskan Congressman Don Young is pleased to announce the final installment of funding for the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center intermodal parking facility in Fairbanks, Alaska. This final allocation of $675,000 comes from Congressman Young's highway bill, the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Act - A Legacy for Users.
"Morris Thompson was a very dear, close friend of mine, and I'm happy to be able to secure this funding for his center," said Rep. Young. "When Morris took over as President of Doyon, he turned that company around to become one of the most profitable Alaska Native Corporations. He was a true Alaskan caring for and providing for the Alaskan people. I am proud to have been able to call him my friend, and proud now to help his legacy live on."
