Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services recognizes NMS as Employer of the Year

For Immediate Release

At the recent Refugee Assistance & Immigration Services (RAIS) celebration, NANA Management Services (NMS) was recognized with an Employer of the Year award for their work in hiring refugees. NMS currently employs 30 RAIS clients at their operations in Providence Hospital and at the Anchorage Airport Courtyard by Marriott. RAIS, managed by Catholic Social Services in Anchorage, celebrated World Refugee Day at Mountain View Lyons Community Park on June 19, 2009. The celebration included music, dancing and other entertainments by our diverse Anchorage community. Jessica Januks, the housekeeping manager at the Courtyard, was also praised for her work in training the refugees who work at the hotel. “Our workforce reflects the diversity within our community” stated Jeannette Duenow, VP of NMS Lodging Operations. “We’re proud of our diversity, of our employees and the value they bring to Anchorage and the work they do serving visitors to our city.”
NMS is the 7th largest private employer in the state of Alaska, with operations from Barrow to Ketchikan within Alaska, and extending into several states within the Lower 48.
