NEWS FROM THE ALASKA SEALIFE CENTERRegistration deadline approaching for Alaska SeaLife Center’s annual summer fundraiser, Fish for the Future
Register by August 7 to join Mr. Whitekeys, Hobo Jim and other prominent guests in Seward August 14th and 15th
Seward, Alaska – July 31, 2009 – Fish for the Future will celebrate fisheries, marine education, and all who depend on the health and productivity of Alaska’s ocean ecosystems.
The weekend will begin on Friday the 14th with a special behind-the-scenes open house hosted by animal care staff and scientists, along with a reception that includes music by Hobo Jim and beverages provided by K & L Distributors of Anchorage.
On Saturday the 15th, participants can embark on a salmon-halibut fishing charter with Saltwater Safari before the evening reception and dinner. Fishing license (if needed) and Silver Salmon Derby ticket are included. Those who have their fish processed and frozen can have it shipped for free to any address within the United States courtesy of FedEx, one of our major corporate sponsors.
Saturday evening will feature a gourmet reception, banquet, and limited auction with honored guests and celebrities. Renowned Alaskan comic-musician Mr. Whitekeys will be the master of ceremonies and entertainer, and K & L Distributors of Anchorage will provide beverages.
Participate in the entire event for $500 ($450 for registration before August 3). Alaska SeaLife Center members who meet the August 3 deadline for full event registration will get a no-cost, one-year membership extension. The full event includes activities on Friday, combo fishing on Saturday, and the reception and banquet with Mr. Whitekeys.
Guests can also support the Alaska SeaLife Center without going fishing: attend the banquet and enjoy the show for $150 per person ($125 for registration before August 3). Tables for eight are available for $1,000, and those who sponsor them will be recognized at the event. Banquet attendance includes admission to the SeaLife Center all day Saturday, including special programs for event participants.
