Credit Union 1 Forms New Member Assistance Department
Anchorage, AK – August 5, 2009 – Credit Union 1 is pleased to announce the reorganization of its Collections department into a comprehensive Member Assistance department for debt and budget counseling services. The former Collections department has been renamed to more appropriately summarize the financial recovery services that Credit Union 1 offers.
Along with this reorganization, the credit union has promoted two employees to new management positions. Debbie Casey, previously the Collections Manager, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Member Assistance. Brian Welch, the previous Collections Supervisor, was promoted to Account Recovery Manager.
Casey has 17 years of experience at Credit Union 1 and 23 years of combined history in the financial industry. Along with her daily job duties-, she is a leader in the credit union’s financial literacy program and a member of the American Collector’s Association International.
Welch has been with Credit Union 1 for 15 years, in positions ranging from part-time courier to credit union leader in account recovery. During this time, Welch also received his Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
