Alaska Energy Rally
Vital issues facing Alaska.
Monday, August 31st 10:45 a.m.
Dena'ina Convention Center 7th and G Street
An Anchorage Energy Citizens Rally highlighting important energy issues will
occur on Monday, August 31 at 10:45 a.m. at the Dena'ina Convention Center
The rally will focus on raising awareness on Alaska offshore energy
development, the natural gas pipeline, higher energy taxes and Cap and Trade
legislation. The U.S. Senate will soon take up climate/energy/tax
legislation. Let our federal lawmakers know they need to 'get it right' and
support domestic onshore and offshore energy development and jobs, instead
of legislation that increases America's reliance on foreign oil.
The rally will include a call to action for Alaska¹s elected federal
officials to heed the concerns of local citizens and the business community
on these key issues.
Confirmed speakers are:
Tara Sweeney, Arctic Slope Regional Corporation
Vince Beltrami, Alaska AFL-CIO
Linda Leary, Carlile Transportation Systems
Andrew Halcro, Avis Alaska
Crystal Nygard, Tutka LLC
Members of the small business community, resource development industries,
construction, mining, homebuilding and trucking are encouraged to attend the
rally and support Alaska energy and Alaska jobs. Please mark your calendar
now, and be prepared to help spread the word and mobilize co-workers,
employees, and concerned citizens to participate in this important event so
our federally elected officials will get the message loud and clear.
Energy Citizens are Alaskans from all walks of life workers in industry,
truckers, union members, homemakers, small business owners whose daily
lives and ability to carry on business and support their families depend on
affordable energy and a healthy economic environment that secures today¹s
jobs and provides employment opportunities for the future.
