Mayor Sullivan Ribbon Cutting and Grand Reopening of the Hops Hallmark Store in the 5th Avenue Mall
The Henry family is proud to announce the opening of their new Hallmark location in the 5th Avenue mall. The ribbon cutting will be Wednesday, April 30, at 12 noon. The event is co-sponsored by the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Sullivan will be present for the ribbon cutting. The public is invited, and light refreshments will be served.
The new store is on the first floor of the mall across from Eddie Bauer.
The store is full of new Hallmark merchandise in addition to the latest handbags and accessories from Vera Bradley, cards, toys and gifts for Mother’s Day, Graduation, new Cross writing instruments, Willow Tree, and so much more.
The Henry family has owned and operated Hallmark stores in Alaska for 35 years. Ken and Cynthia Henry opened their first store in Fairbanks in 1979. They expanded to Dimond Center in Anchorage in 2000; to Sears Mall in 2005, and to 5th Avenue mall in 2010. The Henry sons, Carter and Lucas, now manage the business and share the corporate ownership.
Carter and Lucas are proud of the new store in the 5th Avenue mall. Lucas served as project manager for the remodel of the new space; he commented, “Our customers will love the large windows looking out to 5th Avenue. We didn’t anticipate how delightful it is to enjoy natural light in our store.”
The store will offer prizes and special discounts to shoppers throughout the coming week.
