Governor Commends House for Advancing Education Bill

April 8, 2014, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today commended the Alaska House of Representatives for passing House Bill 278, Alaska’s Education Opportunity Act – the governor’s education legislation to create more educational opportunities in Alaska’s public schools and to increase funding.

“House passage is a critical step toward improving Alaska’s public schools and creating more educational opportunities for our students,” Governor Parnell said. “I applaud the members for their diligence and hard work in crafting a package that provides more vocational and career training opportunities, improves access to charter schools, and increases public school funding.
