Tait Wardlaw named general manager of Chugach Powder Guides heli-ski team

Alaska heli-ski operator Chugach Powder Guides is pleased to announce that Tait Wardlaw joins the company today as its new general manager.

Wardlaw is a passionate skier and athlete who has spent his entire career in the ski industry. He joins CPG having most recently served as vice president of brands, marketing and communications for The Rossignol Group, including the Rossignol Alpine, Nordic and Snowboard hard goods divisions and the Dynastar, Lange and Look brands. He is well known and respected throughout the ski and snowboard world. He’s spent a lot of time skiing in the Chugach Mountains in Southcentral Alaska and around the world in helicopters and on skins. He’s deeply committed to sharing the passion and culture of the ski experience.

“We are very excited to have Tait on board,” said Craig Pattee, a member of the CPG board. “We have a very strong, experienced operational team already in place in Alaska. Tait will augment that team with his significant marketing, industry and business management experience.”

In his role as general manager, Wardlaw will oversee all daily business operations, as well as focus on sales, marketing and finance. He will be based in Girdwood, Alaska, during the winter and spring seasons and consistently throughout the year.

“Heli-skiing is a hands-on, passionate business,” says CPG board member Nick Thomson. “Tait fits right in with our culture and our world-class guides and staff. He brings an invaluable set of skills to our team.”

CPG is an industry leader in American heli-skiing. From its base of operations near the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, CPG provides world-class, guided skiing throughout the mountains of the Western Chugach and Tordrillos, offering the greatest variety of heli-ski terrain in the world.

“I can’t imagine a more exciting role, and I can’t wait to join the CPG team in Alaska,” Wardlaw said. “I’ve been blessed to work in numerous roles and with wonderful people within our sport.”

“Working with CPG and helping to deliver life-changing ski experiences to skiers of all kinds is an amazing opportunity,” Wardlaw continued. “I’ll work as hard as I can to live up to this opportunity as well as to CPG’s reputation.”
