State Flags to be Lowered for Fallen Trooper, Pilot
April 4, 2013, Juneau, Alaska - Governor Sean Parnell today ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff beginning Friday morning in honor of the Alaska State Trooper and trooper pilot who were lost in the crash of Helo-1. State flags will remain at half-staff until Sunday at sunset.
Mel Nading, a veteran trooper pilot, and Trooper Tage Toll were killed when their helicopter went down near Talkeetna. Memorial services for Nading and Toll will be held Saturday and Sunday respectively.
