House Resources Committee Advances Governor’s Oil Tax Bill
April 4, 2013, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell today released the following statement after the House Resources Committee passed Senate Bill 21, the governor’s legislation to grow Alaskan opportunity through increased oil production.
“I appreciate the committee’s commitment to growing oil production in Alaska,” Governor Parnell said. “We are continuing to make progress toward our goal of an oil tax system that is fair to Alaskans, encourages new production, is simple and balanced, and is competitive for the long term. I will continue to evaluate any changes made to the bill against these four principles. With ten days to go, I remain confident we will pass meaningful legislation to grow economic opportunity for Alaskans.”
Senate Bill 21 now heads to the House Finance Committee.
