Governor Orders Flags Lowered for Troopers Lost in Helo-1 Crash
Flags to be lowered on dates of memorial services
April 1, 2013, Juneau, Alaska - Governor Sean Parnell today ordered state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the Alaska State Troopers who were lost in the crash of Helo-1 this past weekend. Mel Nading, a veteran trooper pilot, and Trooper Tage Toll were killed when their aircraft went down near Talkeetna. Snowmachiner Carl Ober, of Talkeetna, also perished.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and colleagues of all who were lost in the Helo-1 crash,” Governor Parnell said. “These brave Alaska State Troopers were on a search and rescue mission, selflessly serving someone in need. Sandy and I encourage all Alaskans to pause and remember the lives lost in this terrible tragedy.”
State flags will be lowered on the dates of the memorial services for the fallen troopers. Those dates have not been determined at this time.
