Please join us on Tuesday, April 16th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm for the last CFMA chapter luncheon of the spring/summer. The lunch meeting will be held at First National Bank Alaska’s office at 1821 Gambell St. (across from Sullivan arena) in the northwestern main building on the second floor. We will put up a couple signs inside the building to direct CFMA members to the conference room, we appreciate First National Bank making the space available.
Our speakers this month provide a unique opportunity to get first hand perspective on topics related to cyber security and infrastructure protection. This department of homeland security team is visiting Alaska and conducting Cyber Resilience Reviews with various critical infrastructure partner organizations to assist them in reducing their cyber vulnerabilities, and increase security and resilience for their IT systems.
The team is taking time to offer short presentations to various groups regarding current cyber threats and mitigations best practices. The team will share an overview of current threats across the broad range of cyber activities and provide insights for management in securing their cyber networks. Additionally the team will share good ideas for future cyber investments and planning. The DHS team can answer the full range of questions from: strategies; policies; identifying, analyzing, and managing vulnerabilities in the critical services operating environment; sustaining and protecting services that are dependent on the actions of external providers and third-parties; and the continuity of operations.
This is a unique opportunity we were presented with to host the DHS team, and want to encourage you to attend the luncheon and bring your IT or IT security personnel from your office or even the owner, this would be a great opportunity to engage the DHS team on questions or concerns, they are on the front line of cyber warfare that not only represent national security threats, but corporate and proprietary threats in the business world on daily basis.
