U.S. Small Business Administration Alaska District Office Names Prime Contractor of the Year for 2012

Anchorage Alaska:  Coldfoot Environmental Services Inc. has been selected as the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2012 Region 10 Prime Contractor of the Year. The Anchorage based business was nominated by Lucretia Teitzel from the 673rd Contracting Squadron Joint Base Elmendorf and Fort Richardson.   Being selected as Region 10’s Prime Contractor of the Year, places Coldfoot in consideration for the prestigious SBA National Prime Contractor of the Year Award to be announced during National Small Business Week.

Coldfoot Environmental Services, Inc. is a minority, 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned small business specializing in environmental, construction & renovation and demolition work.  Coldfoot has been providing goods and services to the United States Air Force for over 11 years.  “Coldfoot has time and again demonstrated commitment and dedication to providing the government with effective, efficient and innovative approaches to requirements.  Coldfoot is always looking for better ways to meet our needs; anticipate our needs and be ready with a solution to those needs,” said Lucretia Teitzel, USAF contracting officer.

Cuauhtemoc “Rod” Rodrigues, owner of Coldfoot, attributes his company’s success to lessons learned while serving in the military.  It was in the military that he learned that success anywhere depends on proper planning, versatility, perseverance and determination.  Nothing better demonstrates these pillars like Coldfoot’s history rising in the ranks.

“SBA is proud to honor Rod Rodrigues as the 2012 Region 10 Prime Contractor of the Year,” said Calvin Goings, assistant associate administrator.  “Under Rod’s leadership, Coldfoot has experienced tremendous success over the last few years.”

Coldfoot will be honored by the SBA at the National Small Business Week ceremonies in Washington D.C. May 20-26, 2012.  Rodrigues will also be recognized at the Alaska District’s Small Business Week award luncheon on April 18th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anchorage.
