Rep. Young Comments on the Two-Year Anniversary of ObamaCare
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young released the following statement today on the two-year anniversary of ObamaCare being signed into law:
“Today marks the two-year anniversary of the single worst piece of legislation I have seen signed into law. I have maintained all along that in order to improve our health care system we must address three aspects: accessibility, portability and affordability. Instead of tackling the real problems with health care, ObamaCare, with its more than 2000 pages of new regulations, new taxes and unconstitutional government mandates, did nothing more than grow the government bureaucracy and put us on a path towards socialism.
“Plain and simple, the American people got the short end of the stick and they deserve better. This fight is not over; we must repeal this monstrosity of a law and start over. As long as I am in Congress, I will do all that I can to ensure ObamaCare is completely repealed.”
On January 19, 2011, Congressman Young voted for H.R. 2, the Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act, which would repeal ObamaCare in its entirety.
