NAACP Anchorage Rally For Justice

NAACP Anchorage Rally For Justice for Trayvon Martin!
Saturday, April 7, 2012 * * 325 E 3rd Avenue * 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

It has been more than a month since Trayvon Martin was shot and killed. In the weeks since this tragedy, evidence of racial bias, investigative mishaps, and the true nature of the circumstances surrounding Trayvon's killing have shaken us to the core. The routine mishandling of similar cases by local police, prosecutors and judges has eroded the Sanford community's trust in the justice system's ability and willingness to do what is right and just.

However, nothing shakes us more than the knowledge that Trayvon Martin's killer, George Zimmerman, remains free. Trayvon’s senseless killing and the city’s failure to bring his killer to justice exemplifies patterns of racial profiling and the devaluation of black men. Join the NAACP Anchorage President Wanda Greene and other supporters this Saturday for a Rally as we call for justice for Trayvon, and the arrest of Zimmerman; and to draw attention to House Bill 80 that is currently under review in the Alaska State Legislature!

When: Saturday, April 7, 2012 Rally from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Where: 325 East 3rd Avenue (John Thomas Building parking lot)
At the corner of 3rd Avenue & Cordova Street, Anchorage, Alaska
