Legislature Takes Aim at Cardiovascular Disease
Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Juneau, Alaska – Representative Peggy Wilson’s resolution recognizing the importance of education and skills that increase survival rates from heart disease today passed the 27th Alaska legislature with a unanimous vote from the Alaska Senate.
As a Registered Nurse, Wilson recognizes the importance of the continuing fight against heart disease and urges citizens to commit to a life-long pledge of healthy living.
An average of 803,000 people die each year of cardiovascular disease.
“Although February came and went, it is still important to raise awareness and fight heard disease everyday by promoting healthy eating, dieting and exercising,” Wilson, R-Wrangell, said.
