Era Alaska expands Dash 8 fleet
ANCHORAGE -- Era Alaska announced today it has expanded its mainline fleet, adding a sixth Bombardier Dash 8 Series-100 aircraft. The aircraft, registered N886EA, will be based and operated out of the carrier’s main Anchorage hub.
The aircraft has approved seating configurations for 37, 29, and 21 passengers and a maximum payload of 10,650 pounds. Onboard features include leather seating, galley, and lavatory, along with full in-flight cabin service.
The aircraft operated its first revenue flights for Era Alaska Monday, April 23 as flights 878 and 879 between Anchorage and Homer, round trip.
Era Alaska operates a fleet of more than 70 aircraft across its network, including six Bombardier Dash 8 and six Beechcraft 1900 aircraft on mainline routes, operated by subsidiary Era Aviation.
Era Alaska is expected to take delivery of a seventh Dash 8 Series-100 aircraft later this year, with expected initial revenue flight to take place sometime in September.
Era Alaska is the largest regional airline based in the state, offering daily passenger and cargo services to nearly 100 communities across Alaska.
