Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Close Various Taxiway and Runways for Improvements, Maintenance
Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) will close various taxiways
and runways between now and October to complete needed improvements, repairs and
maintenance. As a result, flight patterns not normally used and greater frequency of
flights over the community may be observed.
The required maintenance on Runway 14/32, ANC's North/South runway, and
Runway 7L/25R, ANC's northernmost East/West runway, has been scheduled during
the daytime hours of 7:30 am and 8:00 pm in order to keep the nighttime noise impact
to a minimum.
Multiple improvements will take place during each closure - including
runway painting, signage and survey work, crack sealing, light replacement and other
Runway 7R/25L, ANC's southernmost East/West runway, is
scheduled to be closed day and night through October 1, 2010 to allow for complete
reconstruction. Please understand that wind and weather conditions may alter this

Runway 14/32 April 7 - 11 7:30 am - 8 pm
Runway 7L/25R April 12 - 18 7:30 am - 8 pm
Runway 7R/25L April 19 - Oct 1 24/7
The Airport recognizes there will be a temporary noise impact on the community
and wants the public to stay informed about the reasons for the summertime increase in
aircraft noise. The Airport, FAA, and the Airlines appreciate your patience during this
upgrade to the runway system.
