State Reaches Tentative Labor Agreement with APEA-SU
(Juneau, AK) – The State of Alaska’s Department of Administration has reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract with the Alaska Public Employees Association-Supervisory Unit (APEA-SU) covering the period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. The agreement now goes to the membership for ratification.
Commissioner Annette Kreitzer said, “I want to thank both negotiating teams for their professionalism and long hours of hard work in reaching this agreement. I am optimistic that the membership will vote to ratify the agreement.”
The tentative agreement includes the following provisions:
· Effective July 1, 2010 the current wage schedule will increase by 2%, with an additional 2% increase on July 1, 2011 and 2012.
- Effective July 1, 2010 the Employer’s health insurance premium contribution will increase to $1,088 per month, which is the amount necessary to maintain the AlaskaCare Economy Plan. This amounts to an increase of $178 per member, per month.
· Effective July 1, 2011 the wage schedule in effect on June 30, 2011 will be adjusted to reflect a revised geographic differential schedule.For more information about labor contracts, contact Nicki Neal, Director of Personnel and Labor Relations at (907) 465-4429, or the union representing the bargaining unit.
