Made in Alaska program names Manufacturer of the Year
April 5, 2010, Anchorage, Alaska — The state’s Made In Alaska program has named Insulfoam its Manufacturer of the Year for 2009.
Insulfoam is an Anchorage business specializing in the manufacture of foam products for roofing and below-ground insulation. The company has operated in Alaska since 1973 and has been a Made in Alaska permit holder since 1994. Insulfoam has a year-round staff of 17, with an additional 18-20 positions added during the construction season.
“We are pleased and proud to be named Manufacturer of the Year by the Made in Alaska program. The Made In Alaska program, in itself, is a value-added program” said Insulfoam manager Daryl Sobek. “This award reflects the hard work of our fine staff and their commitment to this state.”
The Made in Alaska program identifies and promotes the purchase of products manufactured and/or crafted in Alaska, ranging from small gift items to large industrial modules. The program is overseen by the Office of Economic Development, within the state Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development. Products that meet program criteria are eligible to use the polar bear and cub Made in Alaska logo.
“As a local manufacturer of quality products, Insulfoam has earned this award,” said Emil Notti commissioner of the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development. “The company has been a productive contributor to Alaska’s construction industry and economy for decades. Insulfoam is a genuine Made in Alaska success story.”
