House Acts To Have AIDEA Analyse Gasoline Storage

(Juneau) - The Alaska State House today passed House Concurrent
Resolution 19, which tasks the Alaska Industrial Development and
Export Authority, or AIDEA, with analyzing the feasibility of a
state-built and privately operated fuel storage facility. House
Judiciary Committee Chair Jay Ramras, R-Fairbanks, sponsored the
resolution, which passed by a vote of 32 to 5.

"HCR 19 is a simple resolution asking AIDEA to evaluate whether
building additional fuel storage capacity is economically feasible and
desirable from a market perspective," Ramras said. "Gas prices have
been a topic of concern for the past two years. My committee and the
Attorney General's Office both conducted investigations and found that
price gouging and collusion were not occurring. The public has
expressed a desire for some relief, but we don't want government to
subsidize the fuel industry or pass legislation restricting the free
market."

House Supports Expanding Epinephrine Availability

(Juneau) - The Alaska State House today unanimously passed House Bill
277, legislation requiring the Alaska Dept. of Health & Social
Services to approve programs to certify individuals to purchase and
administer epinephrine, also known as Adrenalin. Representatives Peggy
Wilson, R-Wrangell, sponsored the bill.

"The passage of HB 277 would increase access to this life-saving
medication, while maintaining and increasing available safety
measures," Wilson said. "It also reduces personal liability for acts
of good faith."

Webmaster's Note: The folks in charge of the teleconference system
sent out the following missive earlier today talking about their new
web access to live committee meetings. Your web trolls encourage users
to try the new system out and give Ms. Gullufsen any constructive
feedback you might have.

Hi all,

Legislative Council approved a pilot project to allow streaming from
two committee rooms in the Capitol. If successful we hope to expand
this project to all committee rooms. You can access these streams at
www.alaskalegislature.tv (akltv for short).

Pre-release user feedback has been positive, and we've made some
changes based on user suggestions. Currently, we stream meetings from
the Butrovich Senate Committee room and the House HESS Committee Room.
Streams become available when the meetings start and go offline
shortly after the meetings end. We announce the start of streams at
www.twitter.com/aklegislature . Please note that akltv is a work in
progress and we really need your input to make it work. If you have
comments, suggestions, or complaints, please send an email to us at
webmaster@legis.state.ak.us.

Thank you! Sue
