DOT&PF Clears Debris Following Morning Rockslide on Seward Highway - April 9, 2010

Maintenance and operations crews are clearing debris from the Seward Highway near the McHugh Creek Recreational Area at milepost 111 after a rockslide occurred about 7:30 this morning. Currently one lane is closed while crews remove the rubble. Motorists are advised to watch for flaggers and heavy equipment on the road. Approximately 50 to 75 cubic yards of debris is on the road surface. DOT&PF expects to reopen the lane in a few hours. Official Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facility photos
