Anchorage to Host the 2nd International Congress on Seafood Technology May 10 - 13, 2010

Anchorage, Alaska, April 14, 2010 – The Second International Congress on Seafood Technology will be held May 10 - 13, 2010 in Anchorage, Alaska, co-hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the University of Alaska.

Building on the success of the First Congress in 2008 in Turkey, the 2010 Congress will address state-of-the-art information and innovation regarding handling, processing, preservation, storage and transportation of seafood. World experts will present on key issues regarding the Seafood Industry such as products and health, safety and quality, integrated traceability, novel products and technologies, education, research and innovations states conference chairman Dr. Murat O. Balaban, Director and Professor of Seafood Science, Fishery Industrial Technology Center, UAF, Kodiak, AK. In addition, the most recent research results will be presented in concurrent sessions, and in poster sessions during the Congress.


This is an excellent opportunity to interact, network, and exchange information, ideas and business opportunities because this Congress will bring together not only scientists, technologists, and seafood processors, but also importers and exporters of seafood, business developers, and government administrators responsible for policy development, NGOs and other interested parties from around the Globe.
