Aleut Corporation Board of Directors Announce Interim CEO Appointment
April 29, 2010, Anchorage - The Aleut Corporation Board of Directors announced the appointment of Thomas Mack as interim CEO, effective April 1, 2010. Thomas Mack has been President of the Aleut Corporation since February 2006 and will continue with the dual roles until the CEO Search Committee for the Aleut Corporation is able to identify and hire a new CEO.
Raised in King Cove, Thomas Mack is a shareholder of the Aleut Corporation and King Cove Corporation. During high school and undergraduate years, he spent his summers commercial salmon fishing. He attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas and the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he was awarded a bachelor's degree in education. After graduating, Mack taught in the Anchorage School District for nearly 10 years. Later, he earned a Master's of Science degree from Western Oregon University and a Master's in Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University.
The Aleut Corporation is one of thirteen Regional Native Corporations established in 1972 under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). Operations of the Aleut Corporation and its subsidiaries include government contracting, fuel sales, telecommunications, industrial products and services, and real estate management, as well as various partnerships, joint ventures and other business activities.
