Alaska Migratory Bird Co-management Council Meets April 21-22 in Anchorage
The Alaska Migratory Bird Co-management Council will conduct its spring
meeting on April 21-22, 2010, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be
held at the Kaloa Bldg, 1689 C St., Anchorage, Alaska.
The Co-Management Council, which includes Alaska Native, State, and Federal
representatives as equals, was formed March 28, 2000 by the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service as required by the amended migratory bird treaties with
Canada and Mexico.
The purpose of the meeting is to act on regulatory proposals received for
the 2011 season. An update will also be given regarding cooperative
efforts to protect Steller’s eiders on the North Slope for the 2010 season.
Members of the public may comment on agenda items at the beginning and end
