ASD principal and administrator changes for 2010-11
Ten new elementary principal assignments for the 2010-11 school year were approved Monday night by the administration and Anchorage School Board.
The new principal assignments are:
Alaska Native Cultural Charter - Diane Hoffbauer, currently principal at Willow Crest Elementary
Bayshore Elementary - Heidi Packer, currently the curriculum and instruction coordinator for the North Slope Borough School District
Birchwood ABC Elementary - Tim Godfrey, currently principal at Alaska Native Cultural Charter
Campbell Elementary - Michelle Johansen, currently assistant principal at Polaris K-12
Denali Montessori - Ruth Dene, currently principal at Muldoon Elementary
Mirror Lake Middle - Sherry Ellers, currently principal at Hanshew Middle
Muldoon Elementary - Leroy Grant, currently principal at Campbell Elementary
Nunaka Valley Elementary - Ella Brown, currently assistant principal at North Star Elementary
Ocean View Elementary - Bobby Hinderliter, currently principal at Ursa Major Elementary
Ursa Major Elementary - Ben Hardwick, currently principal at Bayshore Elementary
Wendler Middle - Brendan Wilson, currently assistant principal at Hanshew Middle
The board approved a request by Joel Roylance, current principal at Wendler Middle to transfer to a high school assistant principal position.
Rosemary Fish was named principal at AVAIL and Crossroads earlier this year and Karin Parker was promoted from administrator to principal of Continuation and MyHigh.
Principal positions at Willow Crest Elementary and Hanshew Middle will be announced at a later date.
The board also approved three new administrator assignments, effective July 1. All positions were vacated due to retirements of long-time ASD employees.
Cindy Anderson, currently the director of Secondary Special Education will take over as the executive director of Special Education.
Darin Hargraves, currently with an out-of-district company, was named director of Operations.
Chad Stiteler, currently the district's controller, will take the reins as the new Chief Financial Officer.
