ACVB Names New Public Relations Manager
Anchorage, Alaska – April 2, 2010 – The Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau announced Jack Bonney as the organization’s public relations manager. Bonney is responsible for local, statewide, national and international media relations, oversees social media programs, shares online editorial duties and provides copy for ACVB publications and collateral materials.
Bonney has worked for broadcast news outlets in Anchorage and Washington. Most recently he served as an assignment editor at Northwest Cable News in Seattle, Wash. He started his career in public relations at the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club of the WHL in Spokane, Wash., and is a graduate of Eastern Washington University’s communications and government programs. He has called the Anchorage area home since 1999.The Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (ACVB) mission is to attract and serve visitors to the Municipality of Anchorage as a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO). ACVB’s marketing functions are funded by one-third of the bed tax collected by lodging associations. One-third goes to the Municipality’s general fund, and one-third to service the bond debt and operations of the Anchorage Convention Centers.
