Lucille Sands Promoted to Corporate Compliance Officer


Sitnasuak Native Corporation (SNC) is pleased to announce that Ms. Lucille Sands has been promoted to Corporate Compliance Officer.  Ms. Sands was originally hired in October of 2016 as a Project Administrator working primarily in contracts administration.  Ms. Sands spoke on this promotion and career opportunity, “I’m proud of our people and how far we’ve come since the inception of ANCSA. We have educated leaders and community members with valuable expertise ranging from traditional to business, and beyond.  This is all very valuable. It is an honor for me to focus my work on development of our corporation through the Corporate Compliance Officer position with Sitnasuak.  I can feel and see positivity in our Corporation and the strong urge to develop shareholders here at Sitnasuak.  I’m very grateful to be here.  Quyanavuk for allowing me to put my skills to good use for our Corporation and our Shareholders.”

Lucille has progressively grown over the course of her career.  Her previous positions include Staff Accountant & Customer Service Manager with Bering Air, Inc., Accounting Specialist with Bering Straits Native Corporation, Stockholder Registrar with Bering Straits Native Corporation, Eskimo Walrus Commission Specialist & Accounting Specialist with Kawerak, Inc., Franchise Business Consultant with Subway Development of Southwest Washington, Inc., Staff Accountant with PenAir and most recently as Contracts Administrator with Bering Straits Native Corporation.  Ms. Sands is Inupiaq originally from Nome and Teller.  She received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Alaska Native Business Management from the University of Alaska in Anchorage.  Ms. Sands has five children and is based in the Anchorage office.
