Greg Solomon receives promotion as the Director of Marketing and Graphic Design with Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC)

Greg started with UIC in March of 2015 as the Manager of Marketing and Communications in the Anchorage Calais office with UIC’s Marketing and Communications Department and has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Graphic Design as of May 23rd, 2016. His responsibilities will continue in developing and managing corporate communication material and work closely with staff on the design and coordination of effective outreach materials. As well as assisting with event planning and promotions, networking and media relations. Greg will also be managing departmental staff and taking a larger role in assisting the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications (Mario Gamboa) with on-going corporate marketing goals.
Mr. Solomon has over 20 years of experience in the advertising and marketing fields, and also 15 years in the Information Technology industry. He has helped many successful companies here in Alaska meet their business goals through the effective development of countless communications and advertising projects. Greg’s work has been showcased by companies like, BP Exploration Alaska, Northern Air Cargo, The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce and Providence Alaska Medical Center, just to name a few.
Greg is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his time in the military he was a member of the U.S. Air Force Band in San Antonio, Texas and in Anchorage. He also provided graphic support to Elmendorf’s Manpower Division.
His academic credentials include attendance at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the University of Alaska Anchorage. As well as, studying the Arts at Incarnate Word College and San Antonio College in Texas.
In his free time, Greg is actively involved with the community. Since 1978 he has been a member of the Anchorage Symphony and the Anchorage Opera Orchestra. He is also a member of the Anchorage East Rotary Club and served as the Club President. Rotary is an International organization that seeks to bring humanitarian service to those in need.
Greg is married to Kathleen Madden. He has two adult children and one grandson. His daughter Audrey is a professional violinist living in California and his son Ben works on a family cattle ranch in Texas.
