Coastal Villages Announces 2016 Home Heating Oil Program Details
CVRF to provide $325,000 in home heating oil benefits to residents
ANCHORAGE, AK – Coastal Villages Region Fund (CVRF) announced it will make $325,000 available for home heating oil assistance in its 20 member communities this year. Benefits will be divided equally between heads of household across the CVRF region.
“We hope the home heating oil assistance this year will provide much needed support to families in our region who are struggling with some of the highest energy costs in the world,” said Liana Pingayak, Community Service Manager for CVRF.
CVRF began providing home heating oil assistance in 2008. Since that time, over $1.2 million in benefits have been delivered to families in need of energy relief.
“CVRF has provided economic opportunities for the residents of our region from the earnings of our participation in the Bering Sea seafood industry,” said CVRF Executive Director Morgen Crow. “Whatever the state of the State’s economy, CVRF must deliver sensible, sustainable, equitable and meaningful economic benefits to the thousands of residents of our region. We sincerely hope that this program, along with all of our programs, will achieve those goals.”
All heads of household from CVRF communities are eligible for home heating oil assistance. In order to participate in the program, each recipient must be a verified CVRF resident.
